Charles Smith served as the Principal Fairgrounds Architect in charge of the consulting team’s scope of work. The Team included the Knoxville and Toronto offices of IBI Placemaking. The team began their work by reviewing previous related reports and studies of the site’s recommended next steps. Then the team developed an analysis of the sites various categories and created the site analysis diagrams. Smith and IBI developed a second masterplan for the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto. This plan includes the relocation of the Toronto Convention Center to the CNE site, a mixed use retail/entertainment development, and a sky bridge crossing a major highway connecting to the site of a lakeside amphitheater.
